Yu Yunique Full Review – All You Need to Know

Micromax’s Yu Televentures this time again launched a budget game changer, named Yu Yunique which costs around Rs. 4,999. The device is exclusive on Snapdeal from September 14. The Yunique at this price point is also a very big competitor Lenovo A2010 (Rs. 4,990). The YU Yunique is the most affordable 4G LTE smartphone in India at present time. so lets have a looks that what YU Yunique got exactly.

Design and built quality
So first of all let’s talk about design and built quality. The phone feels very lite in hands and yes the device is very handly, as per the design YU Yunique have a slim feel, slim means the phone is not exactly slim, yes but it feels slim in hands. the built quality of the phone is average we can say from our side yes, the device feel as the sibling of yu yuphoria as a small brother.

On the bottom of the device you will be getting a charging slot or you can say a USB slot, on the top there is a 3.5MM jack for headphones and all. Where as the left side you will be getting 3 buttons volume up and down and wakeup button in middle. When we open the back over, you will be getting 2 SIM slots which supports nano sims, and A Micro-SD card slot.

Display Performance
So as we come to the screen, the YU Yunique comes with a 4.7-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution display which is the good screen as per the budget of this device. It also supports density of 312ppi. As we know this a budget device so we don’t have to expect much from this but still this device got a good brighter and depth screen for playing games or either watching videos over all experience is good from our side. Yes you are also getting a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection which protects your screen from scratch, experiencing gorilla glass is itself feels good in this budget device.

Interface, Apps
The device come with Android lollipop 5.1 out of the box. If you like customization then this time you will not be getting any Cyanogen OS which provides very much customizations on the device, But as still you can Upgrade to Cyanogen OS manually from your own and have customized experience in it.

So lets come to the point you are getting Android Lollipop 5.1 Inside and yes you will be getting all the modes, features which is present in this OS. You will be getting apps pre loaded apps like youtube and all the google related apps docs, email etc. But you can make customizations in terms of appearance with a inbuilt YUniverse that will allow to change themes, and lots of other little customizations. As we go into the storage sections in the setting, we get 4GB something approx free storage space available out of 8GB .

Hardware & Performance
The Yu Yunique is powered by a 64-bit of quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which is clocked at 1.2GHz. The device is also powered with 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and Adreno 306. So over all the specification looks pretty good for that type of budget device. The device responds good in terms of browsing not only in terms of internet over all in the device includes.

When we talk about the gaming experience, we hear that this device perform good, but to be honest reviewer we are not satisfied with this device, when we used this device with lite games like, subway surfer, world Cricket championship 2, and 2 or three other games which is less than 100 MB, or you can say approx 50 60 MB, we are totally dissatisfied with this device yes this device lags a lot, so that’s why we haven’t try to go for heavy games, yes over all apps browsing and all other feature will be work smoothly. We notice average Heating issue with this device, if you are a averager you will find it for sure.

Yu Yunique come with an 8-megapixel autofocus features camera with f/2.0 aperture and it also have a LED flash, as we talk about front the device got a 2-megapixel fixed-focus 83-degree wide-angle capturing front camera with 3P Lens and f/2.4 aperture.

As we we can say in terms of camera yes the device little impressed us the camera is very decent and can take good images at any point either it’s a daylight or a night capturing. the focus of the camera is good as we compare with the yuphoria they got similar autofocus time. with the flash the phone can take more detailed images as comparing with without flash. The camera also comes with other features like, geo-tagging, face detection, HDR, panorama mode and more other needy features.

For front camera it got a 2-MP front camera which is fixed- focus, we used the front camera for many time yes i can say this is decent in light environment and when you come into dark, it little bit disappointed but yes as per the budget the camera is good enough.

Battery and connectivity options

The Yu Yunique supports 4G LTE-enabled TDD Band 40 (2300MHz) and also FDD Band 3 (1800MHz) for Indian users alongside. In terms of connectivity you will be also getting basic features like Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and as usual FM radio and Micro-USB v2.0 connectivity. However we noticed decent overall connectivity experience, we used 3G the speed was good, 2G also have given decent speed, wifi hotspot response good, over all we are satisfied with the connectivity features.

So lets come the battery the device comes with a non-removable 2000mAh Li-Po battery, and the budget smartphone promises to give 7 hours of talk time and other side 271 hours of standby time. As we talk about our experience, which is not so good and not so bad, as we know that the non removable battery give good performance but here we feels little bit down, at 12PM we have 80% battery in our device, with a average use we are ar at 13% at 8:PM. which is not bad at all.

Verdict and conclusion
The device is to be said that this is the first budget device to support 4G and a HD display, yes it is. there are many in the market but do not support that specs, like you will get lenovo Lenovo A2010, but no other device will give you much in this budget. Yes if you are averager and you want best device users can look into this, but at last your choise you can go for other too.
