What Is Facebook Image Search and how to find Facebook profile by image

The terms “Facebook Image Search” are given by users, it’s not an official Facebook feature. Although, there is no such thing as Facebook image search,  there is still a workaround that will help you in finding out the Facebook profiles of people using an image. Here is a simple explanation describing the way Facebook image search works.

So, whenever a person uploads a picture or photo on Facebook, the platform automatically assigns a unique numerical ID to that picture or photo. Basically, every picture or photo that has been uploaded by users on the platform will have a unique ID assigned to it. In the end, when a picture is downloaded from Facebook, the numerical ID will be saved as part of the file name automatically.

This whole process is done by platform, users don’t get to select the numerical ID or anything whenever they upload or download pictures from Facebook on their devices. However, once you get to know the numerical ID of a picture or photo that has been uploaded on Facebook, it’s quite easy to find out the source of the image, which will, in the end, lead you to the Facebook profile.

How To Perform Facebook Image Search

Please keep in mind that the image or picture you have saved from Facebook could be someone’s profile picture or the person’s profile might have been tagged in a post or image. So, basically, you won’t be taken to the Facebook profile straight away using the image that you have. You will have to do some digging after getting the results to the real source or the profile on which the image has been uploaded.

The best part about this whole Facebook Image search thing is that it’s quite easy and can be performed by anyone. You don’t need to have any technical knowledge or anything in order to do this. All you have to do is follow the below-mentioned steps and you’re all set.

  1. First of all, right click on the image that you have found on Facebook to begin.
  2. Now select the “Open In New Tab” option in the context menu to proceed further.
[ In some web browsers, you will have an option like “View Image” or something similar]
  3. In the URL box, you will find three different sets of numbers separated by underscores.
  4. Out of the three different set numbers, select and copy the middle string of numbers from the link.
[ This middle string of numbers is the numerical ID assigned by Facebook to the image]
  5. Now paste the following link in your web browser and add the copied string of numbers after (=) like below.
    [Link To Paste:- https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10161570371170223]
  6. Hit the enter button on your keyboard and you will be directly taken to the image source on Facebook.

Facebook will automatically take you to the profile on which the image or photo has been uploaded by the user. Again, the image might a profile picture of someone or the person whose profile name has been tagged in a post. The steps are extremely simple and easy, all it takes is a few seconds of time and a couple of clicks to find out the Facebook profile of a person using an image.
